This bachelor thesis explores how artificial intelligence can be integrated into the workflow of 3D environment artists and examines its potential to automate parts of the creative production process. The research combines academic literature, expert interviews and practical experiments with emerging AI technologies.
The study investigates applications across moodboarding, texturing, 3D model generation, scene creation and technical workflows. Rather than viewing AI purely as a replacement for artists, the thesis examines how these technologies may shift the role of 3D artists towards creative direction, decision-making and the orchestration of increasingly automated workflows.
